About Cathy

Cathy is the Assistant Director of the Chestermere Library.  She was born in Toronto, Ontario where she completed high school and a year of Engineering at the University of Western Ontario.  Her interests lay west though, as she moved to Alberta and worked in accounting and management.  Cathy has been an engaged volunteer in Chestermere for many years.  She is a mother of 3 sons and has lived in Chestermere for 7 years.

Volunteer Experience

  • Human Services Advisory Board Chair.
  • Interfaith Symposium Moderator.
  • Formative 5 committee member involved with Ecmap (early childhood mapping), which identified kindergarten readiness in our children.
  • Alberta Culture – Chestermere Art Days committee member for last 2 years.
  • Province Wide Mock Emergency participant as part of Emergency Social Services.
  • Chestermere Neighbourhood Connections Project Team member.
  • Rural Community Garden volunteer for several years.
  • Chestermere Gives Back volunteer.
  • Community Builder Training participant.
  • Waterfest volunteer.
  • Various CRCA events including Go Girl, Mind Body Spirit, and Family Day unplugged as a volunteer.
  • Prairie Waters Grade 5 Students mentor to assist them with their exposition
  • Christmas With Dignity volunteer in several capacities.
