Many residents feel that they have not been properly consulted before major decisions were made. Information needs to be shared in such a way as to encourage more community engagement. I have heard numerous comments that the residents don’t feel like they have been properly informed of issues in a timely manner.

I have spoken with many of you about the high cost of utilities here in Chestermere. We have the highest utility rates in the region. I have some ideas about how we can bring our utility rates more in line with the utility bills of our neighbours in surrounding communities.

Over the past few months I have been engaging with and listening to you and your neighbours at special events and at your door. I have developed my priorities based on what is important to you. Taxes are at the forefront of any discussion, especially in Chestermere. Residents are tired of paying high taxes and want relief.

After careful consideration, I have decided to run for Council in the upcoming election on Oct. 16, 2017.
As many of you know, I have been heavily involved in the community of Chestermere since I moved here in 2010. I joined committees, boards and have offered my help where it was needed. My involvement as a volunteer, my position at the Library and my past position as Community Development Facilitator with Primary Care Network, have provided me with lots of opportunity to contribute to my community. I feel that the time has come for me to serve Chestermere in a different way.
I love this place we call home and will work tirelessly to represent you on council. My position on council will be to represent all of us. I am out in the community asking you and your neighbours what is important to you. Each of the members of council will have their own feelings about things. When we come to the meetings personal agendas must be put aside. We will be discussing and voting on issues with the whole community in mind.
I hope that my passion, experience and work ethic will inspire you to vote for me, so that I can serve this beautiful city in a new capacity.
